if you dont feel like it, then dont do them. you have nothing to prove to anyone. I was hating the bike at the end of June. so started doing shorter more intense rides that had me back in the house in less than an hour. now i cant help but be out every night I can. distance isnt everything. Chris hoy only used to do 1km
There is the rationalisation that I've already banked big days in midwinter as well as couple of a Rule 9 rides for the purposes of the challenge which makes bailing out at the height of summer because I can't be arsed a bit of a waste.
(Plus if I fail a certain scary moderator with blue face paint will look scorningly at me :surrender:)

I'm lacking the motivation to atm, doesn't help I need to change the back tyre on the bike, had the chance to go out on the bike before Germany and I just cba. Like others I think I've got myself to set on my goals and the enjoyment begins to fade

Surely you're Cowdenbeath's answer to the Traffic Droid now? You should be out on the bike at all hours handing out red cards to everyone you see :-p

Do you have a mountain bike? That's my outlet when I'm losing motivation. Something about squirming around on mud is refreshing.
No car = limited prospect of MTBing - certainly can't get to any of the interesting trails :-(
I used to be an avid geocacher though, maybe a spot of bog-trotting and nettle stings is what I need to make me appreciate road cycling again!

As an aside I just spotted http://www.nofussevents.co.uk/event/The-Cowal-Peninsula-Sportive/3005/ which looks quite interesting...

I've ditched my annual mileage goals. I was getting a bit obsessed with it and demotivated, which was a bit silly since they were pretty meaningless arbitrary self-imposed targets.

You've got some more events to look forward to this year haven't you?

I've just put in for a holiday on 9th Sept - ToB stage 4 - planning to head up to the Redstone Rigg 17% section.

Thanks, hopefully I'll get to have another go in two weeks time. There were a few fancy bikes and pointy helmets last night! Oh ya! Not for me at this stage though.
You can go most of the TT route on budget, I added a disc cover last year and this year I added TT bars and a forward seat post (put you in a similar position to a TT bike, The latter two has knocked a minute off my pb and something like a minute and 40secs off my first go on a standard road bike; a TT bike Im guessing TT bike would make that two minutes; 20 secs more for 5x more ££££ :-/

Wee heads up if anyone is interested - @SatNavSaysStraightOn is coming to Scotland in October to stay by Loch Rannoch and together we have cooked up a plan for a CC Ecosse posse to be her Super Dom's for the day - anyone interested?

Would probably be weekend of 10/11 October, early days but flag up if you are interested and I'll keep a note to make it more formal nearer the time :okay: - could maybe mix in some riding of the Etape route for the more adventurous.

Sadly trip advisor is indicating that the cafe in Kinloch Rannoch has closed so I will simply have to subject anyone visiting to some homemade cakes and drinks either half way around the loch of at the holiday cottage (full kitchen so no issues with baking it I take the cake tin or you will all just have to have chocolate chip scones!)

Looks like a day for finding a north east bound ride and bag a few Strava PB's . Scotrail can do the hard work.

Edit .... Done.

Haven't been on the bike since the night ride. Went on holiday the following weekend. My Dad passed away whilst we were abroad so by the time we got home and sorted things out I didn't have time for a pedal.

Round Strathaven 50 soon so need to get the miles in!

Who's all doing it apart from me and @Louch ?
