:wahhey:Front ice tyre successfully wrestled off all by myself :thanks:, puncture fixed and non-ice tyre installed ... it was actually not THAT hard to take off, compared with last time ... when that particular tyre almost defeated 3 people (including @snorri & @HJ) and broke a tyre leaver or two ...
The culprit was a stud that had shoogled its way inwards through the tyre with its flat side ... big silvery surface showing on the inside of the tyre ... not sure that should be happening? (It had deflated overnight, so I didn't get to ride to work today, but at least I didn't have to wrestle with it by the side of the road somewhere )
Anyway, that's me ready to ride again, bike cleaned and some TLC for the poor old winter chain

Well done T!
I haven't taken mine out for 2 years now, as they are on a spare wheel set.
Don't know what went wrong there, hope it does not happen again

At risk of seeming condescending when you could outride me any day of the year, did you do the run-in on clear tarmac before using them on ice/snow the first time?

yep, bedded them in very carefully according to instructions last year. The bedding in on a smooth-ish surface, as I understand, is to make sure that the studs are seated securely, rather than getting snagged on snow/mud/whatever and pulled out... it's a mystery. I might take a photo and send it to Schwalbe, asking them ...

;) not sure about outriding (especially with you being a club man now , hope you don't abandon your pals at CC Ecosse for the fast boys)

I'm just back from an afternoon spin through Dalmeny and Hopetoun estates, lots of dare I say it Spring sunshine, snowdrops, great views across the Forth. Great to see the progress both on the bridge and on HMS Queen Elizabeth.

You got any pics of the new bridge ?, was just the bases the last time I went past.
