Haha that was funny

No, no it wasn't.

I'll certainly be looking for you to organise a repeat of the Dundee-Perth-Dundee run @Edwardoka, a cracking ride and delicious stop in the middle (Newport?)
I'd like to investigate alternative routes rather than a straight re-run but I'm sure we can incorporate a trip to Kitschnbake again

Are we doing a CCE tour this year??
Do keep up Berty, there has been mention of several!
Lochs and Glens North / Skye / Mallaig / Tobermory / Outer Hebrides

I am also pondering a ponderable tour - it has been 10 years since I bestrode this sceptred isle like a colossus. Long overdue a rematch. You heard it here first, folks. :bicycle:

I've got 3 days free at the end of March, I'm not saying a tour but defo keen to get some days on the bike

Pick a route, post it up, see who turns up - 'tis the CCE way...

Something like the three ferries route would be awesome
The 3 Ferries route is awesome, especially when riding towards the bottom of a VERY SERIOUSLY BIG hill, which, by some miracle of road engineering, is actually steeper on the way down than on the way up  (according to the Warning signs). This makes the 3 Ferries a route not for the faint-hearted/unfit - unless they are prepared to walk up the hill, while the mountain goats shiver and chill down in the

and :rain: as they wait at the top** (no one getting left behind and all that !). It's a long walk too ...

**those very chilled could always go down the hill a bit to 'assist' the walkers ... ^_^

I'm now thinking 3 different rides on 3 days would be easier than doing a 'tour' as such, i.e coming home every night
How about something along the lines of the Mille Alba audax of a few years ago: "HQ" was Fordell Firs Scout place.
Leg 1 : HQ > Kinross > Newport on Tay > Forfar > Banchory > Braemar > Perth > HQ. ~350km.

Leg 2 : HQ > Forth Road Bridge > Musselburgh > Duns > Moffat > Abington > HQ. ~310km.

Leg 3 : HQ > Auchterarder > Crieff > Amulree > Dunkeld > Blairgowrie > via Kirkmichael to > Pitlochry > Bridge of Balgie > Glen Lyon > Glen Lochay > Killin > Comrie > Kinbuck > Alloa > Culross > HQ. ~ 350km.
That should tick the boxes:
  • 3 different rides - check
  • 3 days - check
  • 'mini-tour' - check
  • do-able ? - something to aim for ... :training:

Of course, you don't need to go quite as far  each day - but it does give a nice variety of routes !

Three days sounds like an opportnity for a Scottish coast to coast (although you would have to use Eyemouth rather than Berwick as the start or finish to keep it truly Scottish!).

This does not represent an offer to organise a tour! I do seem to have a habit of attracting adverse weather whenever I try to organise anything. So when I do it, it will be at very short notice depending on the weather forecast :sun:. The direction of travel will also have to be WITH the wind ^_^.
