I admire those that can do it but I'm not deluded about my abilities/limitations.
You've much better pace and endurance than I, and I'm doing it. Given what I've heard about the event from a very fast colleague, I know that I'm going to hate it at the time but will be glad afterwards that I did it.

4 months is a bloody good training lead-in.

Yebbut ... @Fubar is, well let's say .... errr ... he is more mature than what you is. :thanks:

He is also mature enough to have a passable idea of his own limitations  - and not get caught up in the dream :heat: of some macho willy-waving up a series of very steep hills a very tough bike ride. :surrender:

Now when it comes to 'doing the dance' at the end - he has no equal. :wahhey:

That is a masterpiece in the field of backhanded compliments :bravo:

I don't ride to partake in... ahem... one-upmanship (okay, apart from all those unofficial gentleman's races with @Louch and @Harry_Palmer79 :bicycle:), I ride to keep the crazy at bay  and as the crazy gets more powerful I need to ride harder and harder challenges

Edinburgh commuting question, which I don't want travelling onto Facebook as its current career sensitive...

What's best options that don't involve a bike for getting to dalkieith road areA? Is there an easy park & ride, or is train to waverley then bus ?

Interwebs suggests staying on the M8 then turning off the city bypass at Straiton where there's a P&R interchange into the city from the south. Maybe someone can confirm or come up with better solutions?

@Brandane better stay where you are, it's snowing with a vengeance here in Glasgow .... do you want to build a snowman?
Awww; I quite like the snow! Better than all the usual wind and rain:angry:.
I'm just in from a wee 35 mile pootle. Only needed to use the factor 8 sun lotion today, it was struggling to reach 70° F ^_^. Starting to warm up again tomorrow .

PS... Do you know the difference between a snowman and a snowwoman?
