It is rather. I was thinking about an E2E, but decided two weeks playing around in the Highlands would be more fun, and yes you doP.S. That is an awesome, terrifying route. I badly need to explore that neck of the woods again.
OopsP.P.S. It's Lairg, not Lairgs.
I like thatP.P.P.S. If you were to make Ardrossan to Largs your last leg then you'd be able to call it The Lairg to Largs route!
I once got a Haggis Supper from said chippy and TBH, the battered Haggis could have been 'picked' up off the pavement, slapped in batter..Scabby chips are in Brodick outside the ferry terminal.
Dunno about "bad"; I believe that it was @Louch and @tug benson who discovered them on the first CC Ecosse ride - they've become a bit of a tradition (one that needs to go away IMO)
I much prefer the coffee shop next door!
Aye, I wondered that too. My understanding is that Cal-Mac get a subsidy from 'The Government' for running the services to the islands. If they are going to loose revenue on routes, presumably that subsidy will have to go up to enable C-M to keep operating.Don't know if these lowered ferry fares are all good news. The Ardrossan to Brodick run was the most profitable route for CalMac and they used some of the money to subsidise some of the less profitable ferries around the other islands. Might see some ferry routes cut back or ended altogether now.
Anyone know how best to get from The Helix to K'Dine bridge?
