Brake cable never snapped, gear cable hasnt been changed in over 3,000 miles, you could see the rust starting to take over the cable, neither were there fault and i've done more than 50 miles you cheeky git
didnt think you had been on it much since you got it back. what did the service involve if they didnt change the cables? they may be doing you a favor fixing out of hours, but their workmanship sounds very poor.

That's the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling kicked off yesterday :wahhey:.
Looking forward to joining in from this evening, anybody else going to Chris Oliver's talk 'So you want to cycle across America?'

Full information here - I think there are still tickets available (£5, or £4 concession - proceeds to Wateraid), on the door, starting at 7pm! I've bought mine .

Here is the blurb:
Meet Chris Oliver, AKA the @CyclingSurgeon, he is an inspirational Edinburgh Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Eight years ago he could not climb a flight of stairs let alone ride a bike. He was over 27 stone and had weight loss surgery. Twelve stones lighter he cycled 3,500 miles across USA in the summer of 2013 with his daughter. Come and be motivated by Chris’s incredible transformational journey and fight against obesity.

Mini Service:
Full safety check
Chain checked, cleaned (if necessary) and lubricated
Tyres set to the correct PSI
Brakes and Gears readjusted
Tyres and Brake Pads checked for wear
£25

He supplied and fitted a bottom bracket for £15, so it cost me £40 in total, which was the only reason the bike went in really

Did the safety check pick up rusty cables or that brake cable was loose? I'd not we will have to agree to disagree on what good service is.

Maybe they werent perfect but its how you deal with the problems that makes good customer service, they even fitted two tyres to the bike FOC

Must've been pretty localised rain. I'm just back from a wee spin and it was fine. Gey humid though right enough.
