Like last years Perth ride!!!!!!
Is Cleish long?
Can't add anything else being from the vast western plains...........
Last years' Perth ride doesn't have any hills ! It is, 'officially': "mostly flat, some lumps, no real hills" :secret:

I did @tug benson's first suggestion - the one up to West Binny - yesterday on the 'bent

. Hadn't realised it was 9% in places !

More surprisingly, I made it and not in the granny ring either ! :wahhey:
[On the 'bent, granny ring = very slow = very wobbly = :surrender: =]

@mr messy - shows how trifling a hill Cleish is - you didn't even know you'd done it ... :bicycle:
From the south, it's a series of inclines and levels, slightly steep at the end; from the north, it's longer and it'll keep you honest ...

I like the idea of being on the Dalmeny estate - fewer cars ...

... then Hawe's Brae to follow

Fewer cars, but plenty of sheep, pheasants and a couple of cattle grids.

The estate is part of my favourite extended commute - back on now that winter has passed. The views are stunning in both directions. Here's the loop I do from Cramond Brig. It misses out the bottom section of Hawe's Brae.

I don't think this loop is very 'bent friendly. A couple of quite steep bits hit 12% and 16% but RWGPS doesn't seem to pick up their gradients, perhaps because they're so short.

This is the route I would choose for a 'bent, taking the steep bits downhill.

That's a nice wee ride, @edindave - 40km round trip from home ... a wee incline or two ... :pump:

Thanks

@mr messy Cleish was the hill you did at the point where I jacked it in

and I will be reporting any more accusations of me being a fan of hills mr @Scoosh :P
You jacked in a ride ??? I would never have associated those two phrases with you ! :headshake:

I thought you were a squirrel - always climbing then jumping off the top ^_^ (like they do at the back of my garden).

Too much running, I say ! Get back on yer bike - and chase that @tug benson up a few inclines !

I jacked in the climb, then took a detour with @Edwardoka a more gentle way home at mile 55. was very early in my cycling miles, and still finished the day having rode 75 miles,35 more than my biggest ride which I had only done the week before. The feeling of being welcome despite strugging and everyones support, @jazloc falling in a bush before we had started, @GBC lending me a cardigan , the attack of the wooden cow and @Fubar s jelly babies meant that I went home and decided that cycling really was for me, especially with everyone I met on that day. Since then you have all been stuck with me

my history of hills is more falling off than jumping!
