Look like I am taking the train first thing Saturday which aside from getting up early brings other pressures. Shorts or 3/4's, short sleeve or long sleeve, how many water bottles, what Size? How many energy bars ( nice chia peanut butter) I will not likely get my tubeless wheels on so I actually have to bring a spare tube and all the puncture repaid gubbins. It's all too much!
Summer gear with arm and knee warmers, i'll bring a gilet but it may get left in the car, toe covers for the shoes (I like warm toes), two 750ml bottles, can fill up enroute. I'll have 1 enegy bar, 1 flapjack, a couple of banana's, a few apricots and a gel or two. We will be having lunch so dont need to bring lots of food. Phone, debit card, cash, I'll have chain links, tubes, co2, tyre levers, pump.

If you bring excess stuff you dont need, you can chuck it in my car.

It's almost like you've done this sort of thing before!

Just another thought, can you all drink and eat on the bike? ie, peeling bananas, unwrapping food etc, or will you need to stop?

I'm just trying to get a flavour of how to lead the ride.

I’m out at the cycle show tomorrow, so I’d thought I’d post up the arrangements.

The boys from London arrive at Brokenhurst at 8:15, they will be bleary eyed and will have probably wound each other up on the train. Everyone else will appear at Brokenhurst station about the same time, some will have made extensive use of the breakfast facilities, some wont as they slept in. We’ll all stand around for a bit not acknowledging each other as I’m surely not riding with them? Once we’ve done the introductions well roll out on stage one to Lymington to meet Whorty, hopefully he will be the only cyclist waiting there or we could just pick up a stranger who deson’t know what is going on and hasn’t been part of the grooming process. I’ll panic about the ferry tickets, but all will be good. We’ll get on the ferry, find somewhere to sit, maybe have some caffeine and chat. From there everything else is unknown, the wilderness awaits.

Paul, top post
My phone battery is furbarred so may keep a battery back in your car- and no doubt forget to collect it on the way back:rolleyes:

@bobinski ive just mapped a route for Brockenhurst to London if you fancy taking a gander

My weight is now down to a scary for me, 79kg, and that's with a fairly bristly beard! I think I'm going to spend the next couple of days 'carb loading', starting in about 30 mins :hungry:

Blimey- nearly my weight and a stronger cyclist too:ohmy: I had been relying on you being a bit porkier^_^ Yes, go eat- lots.

Paul,
I am beginning to think you are some weird combination of consultant psychiatrist and Bear Grylls. Who knew- our very own Psychiatrist!
Is this some kind of care in the community ride?

Looking forward to this now. I mean I was before but now we can be fairly confident about the weather (touch wood, touch wood, touch wood!). I've got an afternoon with the accountant today which is up there with watching paint dry but at least I can drift off to thinking about cycling adventures!
