One thing I am banned from commenting on is the setting of sails on ships in films

and on their speed under a light wind with a suspicious disturbance in the water at teh stern

but it does annoy me when a ship is under sail with the flag blowing directly forward and the sails set for close hauled so they get better looking shots from the helicopter

then the flag swaps to flying directly astern but the sails (or at least the booms etc - are well outboard so you can see the characters more easily for the on board scenes!!

etc

and don't start me on WW2 aircraft shots of Hurricanes that are actually spitfires!!!!
(yes - I'm banned from pointing that out to!)

Does anyone know (I have not read the books) exactly why Harry Potter needs specs?. Is it integral to the story or his character?. Probably not, so why have him wear them if it means you need to fake them in movies?. And can't he say he's just wearing contacts?.
Might save the props dept some cash....

They are fairly important in the books, because they are a symbol of his being bullied by Dudley, who frequently breaks them.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds uses a wall of up to 100 LED screens working together to create backgrounds with real images, rather than tedious blue/green screen:
video wall FX
It covers part of the ceiling & panels can be blank white for lighting.

That's because they kept getting out-acted by the tennis ball on a stick.

Or the Messerschmidts that stood in for Hurricanes for the "Repeat please" scene in the Battle of Britain

And while we're at it, what about the 'panzers' in The Battle of the Bulge?

Which was also filmed in Spain…wrong terrain, wrong weather. However, they have a reasonable excuse for not having Tiger IIs (etc)...the ones that weren't destroyed weren't in working order (there is precisely one in the world, same as the original Tiger).

That was one of my favourite war films when I was young, as I've got older and realised has hilariously lackadaisical they are to accuracy less so but I'll still watch it if I see it on.
