Inconsistencies or plot holes in films

On ye olde (older than Accy) UK telly, 1960's shows with night scenes oddly are always dark enough so people can hide but bright enough to cast shadows and they can all see perfectly on cloudless 'nights', presumably, with the full moon up.

To be fair, this still happens in US-made films/TV to this very day. It's a full-on irrational irritation for me!

(Most commonly done when characters are chased across corn-fields. No, I don't know why this is so common in the US. )

Well, I've watched enough US telly to know the entire country is in fact, a never-ending corn field with the mandatory chirping of crickets everywhere :okay:

It’s amazing how they are always transported at exactly ground level. Not a few feet above or a few feet below. That could cause huge complications by just being a tiny bit out.

In the Picard spin off there was a malfunctioning and the poor guy fell about 20 feet and got injured.

There's a really good YouTube video which I can't find that explains location shoots around Hollywood. Basically there's a circle that is the furthest point the unions agree the technicians can travel to, do a shoot then travel back from in a day. It encompasses quarries, desert (the Vasquez Rocks) and other areas instantly recognisable as having been used in hundreds of movies.

Indeed. You'll see the Vasquez Rocks in hundreds of movies and TV series - they even appear in the Picard spin-off.

Every time I saw them on original Star Trek, I always expected Champion the Wonder Horse to come galloping from behind a rock

Incidentally, In the modern Star Trek movie, the entire surface of Vulcan (before it blew up) was made of the Vasquez Rocks

I think most Trek shows have filmed there. They're in one of the Bill & Ted movies too.

In 'Girl on a Motorcycle' a VW Beetle involved in a crash has all it's front windows removed prior to the collision.

Apparently if you watch the Harry Potter movies, his glasses are just flat glass, not really lenses at all.

In the film Miss Willoughby and the Haunted Bookshop, the rare book seller has given pride of place to a Reader's Digest Atlas from the 70s.

I mean it's a good book but hardly rare or collectible.

Great film if you like Scooby Doo mysteries. Velma and co would solve it in seconds.
