But he could do that shoulder nerve pinch thing, right?

I read somewhere they he couldn't even do the 4 fingery thingy of "live long and prosper"

If you look (I haven;t much but seen it a couple of times) he always (?) starts with his hand out of sight and brings it up already formed - because he had to put his finger in position with his other hand - only then can he hold it in position

and on falseness - I read in a "reliable" forum - that Star Wars was NOT filmed in a Galaxy far far away!!!!!

It's a Jewish blessing. Nimoy as a young boy defied his parents and watched the priest do it one time. He kept it for Spock when it was decided that they needed an alien greeting for Vulcans. BTW, did you know James Doohan (Scotty) lost part of a finger after being shot a few times during the D day landings?. You won't spot that in Star Trek.

If their eyesight is so bad they can't act without correction, they will need to wear contact lenses. Though TBH, I think there are relatively few roles where eyesight plays a significant part, so it won't often matter whether glasses are worn, excepting historical roles where modern glasses would be anachronistic.

I think Katy Manning (famous as Jo Grant alongside Jon Pertwee's Doctor) was near blind without her glasses, but had auditioned and got the part without them. Everything had to be arranged so she'd not blunder into things

I read somewhere that he actually did have, but when he came off set he painted the pointy bits with invisible ink.

And in Mission Impossible he'd cover up his pointy ears with those rubber disguise masks they used a lot

I was a stage manager on a production of A Man for All Seasons where one of the main characters was profoundly deaf. We had to develop a whole series of subtle visual cues to help him. Unfortunately, a spotlight from the wings dazzled him when he was peering to see one of them and he stepped off into the orchestra pit.

Oof, hope he was more or less OK ?
