Suriving overwise incapacitive injuries is a well known trope. Only a flesh wound

To be fair it's not something new seeing characters in film surving heinous wounds.

Matt Deamon stapled himself in the Martian and was up growing spuds lickety split.

His injury was a bit smaller, this woman practically had a full length zip on her stomach!

Also just assume 90% of the crew are idiots. I'm sure I've read a fan theory about it that its because they (Weyland-Yutani) were trying to do the trip on the cheap they didn't hire the best staff. Off the top of my head their mistakes:

• Exploring an alien ship before it is properly mapped
• Trying to touch a space snake
• Allowing an obviously infected crew member back onto the ship
• Not running to the side

Now to be fair on myself I love the Aliens world and franchise, and those and the other problems the film has don't stop me enjoying it but my god it's frustrating at times!

I would add:

1. Landing the ship miles from your destination when there's a ton of space right next to it.
2. The old chestnut of 'storm front moving in' thus necessitating a race back to the ship with somewhat predictable results.
3. This could be avoided by landing next to the 'structure' and well, walking.

Yes, space scientists are incredibly stupid by feeling the need to touch a space snake. I'd be out the door as soon as it flinched....

Alien Prometheus:
Woman has stomach surgery & staples her wound up after removing a xenomorph. She then runs around the last fifteen minutes of the movie, even avoiding a crashing spaceship as if 100% fit....

I had stomach surgery in 2017 and couldn't stand up for two days......

Recovery is quicker in the future

Prometheus is just one long well-that-serves-you-right stain on the Alien franchise. Alien: Covenant is even worse, little more than a rehash of all the previous Alien happenings in one huge disaster. I’ve seen them all but now stop at Alien³.

Raiders of the Lost Ark:

In the scene where Indy shoots the truck driver after they bundle the basket, supposedly carrying Marion, into the rear, it skids in the square, hits a building & topples over before it explodes. For a split second, as it's laid on its side, you can see a wide tube under the rear wheels. This is the compressed air mechanism which fires a telegraph pole into the ground and toppled the truck.

The truck used for the final chase is the same truck.
They only had one truck so had to film out of sequence and blow the truck up at the end of filming.

It was the old 'switcheroo' trick with the basket, she simply wasn't loaded on. It was probably to distract Indy who then suddenly thinks he killed Marion by shooting the driver and the truck explodes. Its a script set up so to surprise audiences later when Indy finds her in the tent. The Nazis think she knows where the Ark is or has the medallion so they keep her alive.

In Star Trek The Next Generation they put command officers in burgundy-red uniforms to try to get away from the old gag about expendable extras in red shirts (parodied nicely in Galaxy Quest by Sam Rockwell's character only being called 'Guy' and he's convinced he'll die since he has no surname). But in season 2...they kill off an un-named crew member from an ethnic minority in a red uniform.....

Cartoon characters are really indestructible.... . I always loved the 101 variations of falling off an impossibly high cliff....with the little cloud of dust as he hits the ground
