The funniest thing about the Expendables is that they turned the brightness down for the external shots of the big ole shoot out so you couldn't see the hoard of bad guys getting back up and running around to swarm back again. Presumably this was because the budget had been blown on all the big name action guys, rather than little things like a plot...

When a spaceship loses power and reverts to emergency systems only why doesn't the artificial gravity fail? You never see the crew floating helplessly around.

P.S. How is the artificial gravity system supposed to work?

P.S. How is the artificial gravity system supposed to work?

It is very complicated - they could explain it but you wouldn;t understand it

but in a way it is very simple and uses very little power which is why it carries on working when they go into life support only mode

Hope this helps

(or possibly - it costs too much and is too difficult to have people floating around as if there was no gravity while filimg on Earth - and filing on location (i.e. in space) is rather complicated)

Not a film but I noticed in the series Minder, Terry was involved in a car chase with his classic Capri.
Throughout the chase the car was changed. Two different Capris where used with two different number plates.
Another 80s series the Professionals you see another classic car chase involving a Jag which the baddies were driving. It goes careering down an embankment and you can see the dummies head fall off.

A good one is just how do the terrorists get all their equipment, themselves and an ambulance into the back of a not terribly big van. And how does the driver get in it when the doors will be wedged against the sides
Back doors of the ambulance. Many of which are simply stretcher carriers.

Many films & TV shows, when someone, either a goodie or a baddie, needs to start a car to escape or set off in hot pursuit, just fumble around under the dashboard, twist or spark a few cables together and drive off..
It'd be more believable if they just kept going straight ahead as the steering lock is still engaged.

The Edge Of Tomorrow

Great sci-fi film, based on a japanese book that I still haven't read but anyway.....

Tom Cruise's character is an arrogant Army PR person, generally used as a 'talking head' on TV shows, news etc about the invasion. Yet he's demoted and given a fake identity as punishment by a General he insults. Why does nobody recognise him? If he's spent the last year on TV talking about the invasion I'd have at least expected him to be a little famous, surely someone would have noticed the new private looks a bit like the guy from TV?
