And don't go thinking cardigans are stuck in the past. It's not all football buttons and cable stitch. Oh no, the modern go-ahead streamlined cardigan of today marks out its wearer as a sick cool dude bro.

Made of modern technical material, and equipped with a zip rather than the traditional buttons it stands out from the crowd but retains the traditional and practical pockets for bits of string and conkers. It also has a handy ticket pocket for your free bus pass.

That's what I'm wearing today.

Okay, i have a full length zip cardi. I don't like wearing it because .... It's a cardi.
The neck zip equivalent just looks better.

But on thr subject of zips, button or zip fly?
Convenience is almost everything, but that scene in "There's Something About Mary" does indicate a potential downside.

I actually owned a Morris Oxford for a couple of years in the 80's.

The car I had after it was a Morris Marina estate, with an identical engine (as far as I could tell).

1800 'b' series engine,

My Dad had the 'posh' version, Vandem Plas 4 litre 'R' used more fuel than an ocean liner..............Didn't have a carb it had a little Arab with a bucket

I don't have zip up fly on my strides. I'm an old fashioned guy with the buttoned hatch on the back for that sort of malarkey.

As I said upstream, no pic of my Tank Top era, but so as not to deprive you of my sartorial elegance, here's a school photo aged 15

Not a cardie I know, can't recall the name for this particular knitwear, but thought it the height of fashion back then.
In the last couple of school years we were given a lot of leeway as to how we dressed, so all my paper round money was blown on high waisters, flares, brogues & trackers shoes, Brutus shirts, Levis shrink to fit, Doc Martens etc.
Still had a bit left over for a Curly Wurly and a Tip Top lolly
