Americans are well known for there love of powerful cars, usually ones that do more gallons to the mile than vice versa.

Why then do they generally sell really crap fuel? Regular 87 and premium is 91/93. What is that all about?

Going off topic, fully functioning assault rifles aren't legal. They have to be modified for single-shot capability only, at which point they become SLR's and are no longer assault rifles.

Why are American cars so dreadful? I mean, traditional British cars (when we had a domestic motor industry) were rust-prone and unreliable but at least they cornered better than a sofa. US cars are apparently styled by a toddler, are the size and weight of a bungalow and only go in a straight line.

A blanket reply to questions about troubling American foreign policy: I’m afraid I can’t answer for the security establishment’s choices (e.g. napalming, destroying a sovereign nation to save it, droning, etc.) or jaw dropping justifications. Going back to "the good war", who knows what decisions I would've made if I'd lived the history this guy did:

Chalmers Johnson was one of my (virtual) tutors.

I could go on at much greater length, but this isn’t the thread for that.
