57 next year although nearly 40 years of manual work are taking the toll on the body so 2 operations so far for wear and tear along with the collar bone repair from an accident so i dont like kneeling or fully bending one knee and the pins /plates in other parts play up sometimes.

I've had only 5 years of manual labour, 25 years of office work, and no accidents. And I still can't bend my knees very well!

Same history as me up to 12 years ago.

At that time I was morbidly obese** which made my knees so bad that I could no longer walk normally down my stairs - I had to turn round and walk downstairs backwards.

Then I got very ill and lost around 35 kg of weight. Much to my surprise, that completely fixed the knee problem!

** Corrected - my BMI was 33.5 - obese

Well done! Quite an achievement.
