P.S. actually she lied when we met - she said she was 2 weeks younger than me - a clear LIE!!!!

Im soon to be 49 but after recovering from Bowel C 5 years ago, I dont' feel anything like that (during with the chronic iron block I felt 80), my Garmin says I've VO2Max of a 20 year old and my scales say I've a body age of 38 which feels about right.

I‘m currently enjoying the last year of my 50’s. I’ve got the big Six-Zero in January.

I can’t believe that I’m now turning 60, I honestly don’t feel that old, we had our kids quite late so they’ve kept us both young and reasonably active.

It is a cliche but if I had known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.
Some doctors seem to lack judgement IMO as they claim I am very fit.
That is not how I currently feel.

I had a doctor describe me as an 'elite athlete' on several occasions... This was when I was 56 years old, overweight, unfit, and three quarters dead from blood clots!

Apparently, anybody who can ride a bike at 20 km/hr for more than 5 minutes is someone with incredible fitness!

The NHS has a low fitness bar.

Two years ago, prior to an operation, the test was for me to walk 10m in a straight line and ascend one short flight of stairs. Passed!

I agree, it’s been a good decade especially as I managed to semi retire this year
