Terribly.
Various and endless issues since 2018, I've never slept well since then Very prone to waking up for various reasons, aches, overheating etc and once awake, it's always niggling thoughts that come to the fore, I'm very prone to overthinking stuff. So, 4 or 5 hours is reasonably 'normal'
I hate it, always feel jaded and tired. Always sleep better if I take painkillers before bed but try not to. Also find myself taking to the spare bedroom in the night, I do like a cool bed.

Always that way...no. I used to sleep well.

Ironically, if the kids allow it, I can easily sleep 10 or 12 hours on a Friday night through Saturday morning. Just doesn't happen often enough.

Probably between five and six hours mostly. I don't think I have ever normally had the recommended amount of sleep. I've always been an early riser and get up around 6:30 and go for a four mile walk. I set my alarm clock for 6:30 on work days but I'm nearly always awake before it goes off. I waken at around that time at the weekend too. I often go to bed early enough but read until after midnight.

I had phases were I couldn't sleep at all due to mental health/anxiety/over-thinking issues.

…always a wheeler
All sorts of practical issues intervene but, left to myself, I hit a natural go-to-sleep moment around 22:00. I prefer to sleep with the curtains open which means I wake up around dawn when this occurs between about 05:30 and 07:30. Mid-winter and mid-summer I generally get up between 07:00 and 07:30. It is a rhythm that can be greatly helped by streaming the late-night news programmes the following day — watching them live can be a great sleep disrupter.

After about 7 months of retirement I've finally settled into a regular pattern of around 7 hours per night. Prior to that I'd done 35 years of shift work with starts of either 06:00 or 0700 and finishes of either 22:00 or 23:00 over the years and that was a complete wrecker for any good sleep - frequently only 5 hours or less.
