They are two pieces of data that are as worthy of consideration as helmet introduction. Are you aware of evidence that carbon wheels being unusually prone to failure? Bike profiles are closely controlled by UCI.
Or were those both jokes too?

If the UCI is so powerful and the anti helmet so compelling then who is driving the helmet compulsion?
How do you know if you haven't looked at the data. You clearly believe that nothing but helmets are the cause and this is proven by mapping helmet introduction against deaths. Try mapping it against the usage of carbon frames or average riding speed. Try looking at all the data before reaching a conclusion.No. They're not. Unless you can provide some evidence that they are. Which you clearly can't because the suggestion is as preposterous as it is desperate.
Are those assumptions you are making?Worthy of consideration for a second or two before they are dismissed. Lukesdad came up with a more realistic list but they are all things that are likely to have changed slowly over time, not flipped from one situation to another in a short time which is what happened with racing deaths.
As for who is driving helmet compulsion, most of them seem to be non-cyclists for some reason and they seem to vary between the well intentioned but poorly informed to the people assuaging their guilt to those deliberately wanting to damage cycling.
... and when that experience is wrong?
One example is the claim (from personal experience) that helmets are wide enough to protect from facial injuries
Absolutely untrue, but put forward as a reason why you don't need a full face helmet!
Should we simply accept such dangerous claims?

You're just taking the piss now.
Thanks for that mate.Probably, or maybe not. But the thing is, he has an open mind, you on the otherhand do not.
Since some of you are so right all the time I'm wondering if you could spare a little advice? When I am putting my trousers on in a morning I usually put my left leg in first and then obviously the right leg. Am I doing this the right way around or should I alternate this procedure. There has to be a scientific comparison and I would hate to be doing the wrong thing
