I had no idea Hebden Bridge was susceptible to flooding - my band plays there once a year, usually in April. Last year it was good weather, the year before some of the band stayed overnight and woke up to find themselves snowed in! We're going a bit later this year, mid-May.
The whole Calder valley is - flooding history HERE. It does seem to be getting worse though, despite efforts to mitigate the risks.

2012 was particularly bad. Hebden Bridge flooded in June and July at which time I was becoming ill, and then I ended up in hospital in August. My sister came up and was staying at my house while I was kept in hospital and it flooded for a 3rd time so she was unable to get to the hospital that day. It flooded a 4th time in December!

I know where you are coming from.
The bbc breakfast prog actually comes from salford, not a million miles from the ribble, dales, cumbria etc, though i suppose that makes their focus on hollywood worse. Centre of news still london.
BBC1 did actually go off air for a while yesterday, presumably because of weather problems in the Salford area.

Road blocked in both directions, so the village was pretty much cut off yesterday - not that anyone was out in that.

I didn't bike in this morning (wind still bad) so I don't know about the cycle track. There's usually a few trees blown over though

No guarantee, we've had snow in June up here.

On Sunday morning I flew into Stansted on Pegasus Air ( budget Turkish airline). The pilot called off the first attempt at landing and we didn't actually touchdown. It was a pretty scary attempt and the poor girl opposite was throwing up. We circled at altitude for 45 mins then made another attempt. This one was even rougher and I threw up. The pilot grew a large set of cojones and put us down firmly on the tarmac and we all clapped. It was the scariest flight I have ever been on.

The trains were all cancelled so I had to wait 4 hrs for a coach.

I'm glad that your plane eventually landed safely!

Others flying Pegasus have not been so lucky... 3 crash landings in 2 years, including one 4 days ago which killed 3 passengers and injured 180!

I was surprised my flight arriving at M/cr just before 8am on Sunday touched down 1st time. On the approach we were bobbing around all over the show, engine power was on/off/on/off repeatedly as the pilot fought the violent gusts. I fully expected the landing to be aborted because of the extreme rolling movements which threatened to slam the wings into the runway, then suddenly we touched down like we had landed on a pillow, possibly one of the softest plane touchdowns I have ever experienced.
I was of course grinning like the Cheshire cat all the way in because I must have a bit of a thrill seeking streak and it was quite an exciting ride!

I saw a photo of Tod park and it did look under water, not sure what time that was at though. I'm off over to Mytholmroyd this morning to see what clean up work they have for volunteers, the least I can do after all the help I had when I was affected in Hebden in 2015... not looking forward to seeing it all though
Hope you managed to get through okay. "Volunteer bus" laid on by one of the local bus companies, from along the route, taking people as far as possible to help out.

Yeah the roads were open okay, and today's downpour never properly materialised which was good.

I was at mytholmroyd community centre for a few hours, lots of people helping around the town by all accounts.
