Amazing footage of the Hastings Lifeboat heading out on a shout yesterday:

My hometown of Ilfracombe has a Shannon class lifeboat as well, absolutely amazing boats and really brave crew.

Hail showers which seem to be lying. Does not seem much wind here but all Oban ferries cancelled for the rest of today. Lochaline ferry eventually sailed but for how long? Corran has started sailing again after earlier cancellation. Trouble with Lochaline route is that it is a long trip on partly single track if you find at the end the ferry is off. Probably no overnight accommodation so a long winding trip back or sleep in your vehicle as I have had to do in the past.

Our planned trip to New Brighton is cancelled as the sea front is closed all the way from NB to Hoylake. Ferries and trains are cancelled.
Quite calm here at the moment ut the strong winds are forecast to return for tomorrow.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
Thank goodness for solid windows. I suppose that's also an advantage of windows openg outwards in the UK.
I bet the water got in eventually!

Some of that brown colouration would be due to peat. A lot of it was probably something less pleasant***...! xx(

*** When the main road through Hebden Bridge flooded once, some children were seen using it as a swimming pool, oblivious to the human turds floating around them!

I had no idea Hebden Bridge was susceptible to flooding - my band plays there once a year, usually in April. Last year it was good weather, the year before some of the band stayed overnight and woke up to find themselves snowed in! We're going a bit later this year, mid-May.
