Yeh, even if you are right (or wrong) it makes zero difference when you are massively outnumbered. ;)
Even sheep can be tricky to deal with in numbers............

Those of us who are arguing with you on this thread. Cyclists, some of us very experienced and knowledgeable. Id guess that most of us have worn helmets at some point. Why do you think we changed our minds about them? I'm starting to think that you simply don't understand the argument.
I do: to put it in a nutshell, you (collective you) think (informed by relevant data) that cycling helmets are of not much use, and would very much mind if they were made compulsory.
Also (as an afterthought, of course, not something you would say on CChat) you(collective again) vaguely consider the ones that wear helmets a bit of ignoramus nobbers.
You disagree vehemently with the "helmet imposing lobby", I get it.
Nobody on here though said they want to put their helmet on your head!

The real question because you don't want to answer mine? I am very aware of the claims made regarding cycling helmets and the effect increased speed may have. What you read did it say "cycle helmets are no use whatsoever after 20 mph?? Just curious as you don't see the average ped going along at 20mph+.

Not sure what you are getting at...you appear to be suggesting that a cyclist can exceed the design parameters of a cycle helmet but a pedestrian can't?

Does a ped have the ability to fall over on his own accord at the same speed as a cyclist?? Are you this hard of thinking??

Here is the problem with your whole agenda. You manipulate the scenario to suit your argument.

Your original post was unequivocal.....

I I choose because i believe hitting your head on the road or hard surface can be improved upon with the aid of a helmet. It's my head thanks..

It did not mention speed, or different circumstances, exclude any particular group and you are now becoming tragic in your attempts to manipulate your own scenario to avoid answering...

The question remains simple and adheres strictly to your original posts and scenario...... given a pedestrian and a cyclist suffering the same impact would both benefit, or one one benefit more from a helmet than the other?

srw

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Secondly you are simply trying to justify not wearing a helmet.
What do you know about the helmet-wearing habits of (to name but three) Norm, Adrian and Cunobelin? I'll give you a clue - they've all told you in this thread. Oh, and for the record, since you seem to be obsessed by hunting in packs, one's a curmudgeon I've met and like, one's a curmudgeon I've never met who blows hot and cold and one's a curmudgeon who frankly goes on a bit.
Why should i have to justify wearing one?
It's an intervention. Doing nothing is not something that you should feel the need to justify. Doing something is.

Cats can also suffer head injuries, and may benefit from protection?
Sorry, I'm gonna steal this from you!

I COULD NOT CARE ABOUT PEDESTRIANS AND HELMETS!!!! Is that clear this time or do you think you will continue to quote the same sections over and over?? I ONLY care about cycling helmets and their effectiveness.

The fact YOU keep ignoring this and instead insist on going on (and on) about ......

"given a pedestrian and a cyclist suffering the same impact would both benefit, or one one benefit more from a helmet than the other"

Afterward maybe we can see if we can test wheelchair users and cyclists at the same low speed. Then children in prams. Then runners. Then dogs, cats, turtles, snails and kangaroos.

Or maybe we can just stick to the subject of cycle helmets!!!!!

No one appears to be able to get you to see that this is the relevant subject!!!

That, dear Watson, is what's tragic.

I do know the helmet wearing habits of those you mention but thanks again for the clue. You give them out a lot. Not just to me either. Make you feel clever?

Doing nothing by definition means you are dead. I think you were probably doing something.

Please assume from now on smart arsed comments will provoke smart arsed answers........

Really? On a personal level I find it hard to believe that you never walk anywhere ever, and even if that's true, do you really have no thought for the millions of people who do? There are far more of them than there are cyclists
