Come home from a colossal stag do to my welcome pack last night. Body is in no fit state for the 13 miler, let alone the 52, so trying to get ready for Monday is going to be interesting! Need to clean the bike as well, was a bit lazy last time I took it out and it might be a bit mucky

I've got it but I'm not sure about wearing it! If I can't find a way of putting the number on the front of my 'proper' top without ruining it with safety pins then I might!

I've just come back from peddling around most of the circuit and on the whole, its quite reasonable with very few 'hills'. The city centre is full of pot holes, raised man holes and re-surfaced sections which is very uneven and dangerous. Heading up to Old Trafford and around that area is a decent stretch of smooth tarmac.

Well I've gone for a compromise now

Still doing it on the Tricross but just fitted some 28mm Conti Hardshells for a more road set up.

Been out for a quick spin and the compromise is a slightly harsher ride, but being 28mm they still sort out the minor ruts and pot holes very well.

I know they do, cos I searched for them

Now I have a perfect all rounder

28mm road tyres that are reasonably quick and should cope well on poor surfaces and the 32mm Borough CX when I want to off road/winter cycling
