Okay, just a quick question then........ what is the best way to fix the number to the front of my jersey (I'm not going to wear the cotton T'shirt from Christies) without ruining my clobber?

Never mind that, where are you attaching the race number with the chip on it?
has to be on your bars I thought. I don't think they'll let you run if it's anywhere else.

That is what is annoying me, wouldn't it act as a wind-breaker and flap around potentially ripping off?

I've never used a number on a bike TBH but I'm guessing the way the holes are set high means the top bit will almost wrap around the bars so there's just the lower bit with the number on 'dangling', but on most modern bikes this will then be behind your mass of cables so it must be ok.

I'm going to have a dry run today when I swap my tyres over and have a general fettle

Is anyone driving in on the day from the Salford side, (Regent Road part)? That's how I'd normally get to MUFC from Bolton, (M602, Regent Road, Mancunian Way, Ashton Old Road, Alan Turing Way), but if the Manc Way is closed from 6am that's a no no.

Guessing I'll be OK if I go past the MEN arena and loop around that way, (Salford Crescent, left into Trinity Way, past MEN, right on to Cheetham Hill Road, loop round onto Miller Street/Swan Street/Great Ancoats Street, left onto Pollard Street, right into Merrill Street/Ashton New Road.)

I've just entered the 52. It's a shame (for me) it starts in Eastfields, if it started in Salford Quays (I live in Urmston) I could leave the car at home

Looking forward to it, Manchester is very flat, so with the exception of the Mancunian Way (some bits are steep) it should be fairly nicely flowing.
