Well done @MontyVeda It is the A858 heading toward Achmore. It's part of the Hebridean Way between Leurbost and Callanish.

As shown by your hyperlink the Eitsal masts are very faint in Google Street View.

A858 originally ran from Stornoway to Achmore (following the single track road over the moor) then onto Callanish and up the west coast to Barvas. The road between Leurbost and Achmore has been upgraded at some time (before I moved there) and is now the main road to the west side and Callanish.

Over to you

Thank you @iandg.

Hopefully this one will take just as long...

I know (already knew!) what I am looking for but I haven't managed to spot the place yet!

What I can say is that when you have 2 windows open, one containing the original photo, and one showing a possible location in Street View, don't get distracted by a phone call... I forgot which one I was looking at and thought "Wow, that definitely IS the location - it looks like I have found exactly the right spot first time!!"

Well done @Marchrider.

Did you recognise the area or follow the clues?

Either way, over to you.

EDIT... for anyone interested, my road was part of a 15 mile on/off road route out of Cockermouth, initially following NCR 10 then heading south and back via some lovely bridleways, an actual stream bed at Lingleybank, the woods by the river and up to Watch Hill and a final fast decent on grass...
