I wouldn't worry, you can put the cake in my rucksack, nobody will notice the drop in speed.

In fairness, I genuinely am as slow as a slow thing from a slow thing factory. I reckon my best chance of keeping up with you all is to load you all up with a multiplicity of cake ;)

Now, I have a freezer full of orange and lemon cakes, an oven full of chocolate and bananananana cakes (which may well be filled with nommy chocolate ganache at some point tomorrow) and of course, Thursday is officially cake day, when I shall be distributing cake to assorted workplaces and bicycle emporiums of this fair town. So the question is, shall I make a batch of very chocolate-y chocolate cake with cherry jam in, between work and swimming tomorrow? Decisions decisions.....

Mmmm, the land of cake ;).

I wouldn't worry too much on speed, I've done 1900 miles this year at an average of 10.12 mph.

The forecast is mixed - stiff northerly wind, dry, and cloud cover, which means that we won't be cold, but we might not see much of the dawn, but ...........if we're fortunate, and the dawn is anything like the most marvelllous dawn this morning, and supposing we get to Mrs. B's in good time, and supposing I can extract you from the embrace of warm drinks and jacket potatos, then I suppose that we should stand on the bridge and watch the sun cast it's first light on the water below. That could be good.

I think Sharky and I are on the same train arriving in York just after 10pm.
Will there be anywhere to get a decent cup of coffee at that time of night? Or even just a cup of coffee?

'York International' station will have cafés, non?

As there appears to be a surfeit of cake, I'll bring a pannier...

Longers, I've had a request for a pub without football so we'll be in the Rook & Gaskill at about that time. It's next to Cycleworks outside Walmgate Bar, so we can look at the roadblock and wonder about Simon's plan for levitating us over it. It serves good beer and ok food, and I believe coffee.

The Victoria used to serve coffee and it's a much better pub. That's one of the places some of us were thinking of going to watch the football if they still have screens in there.

If not then we'll have to be in two groups and meet up half way xx(.
