I'm out i'm sorry to say. This cold I have inherited from Ianrauk Jnr seems to have reached it's peak tonight. A night ride is not going to help clear it so best I stay home.

Sorry to say that I won't be able to make it tonight. I have had a number of work issues, which meant I have

Davy Walnuts, I have a featherlight innertube that I was looking forward to handing over to you. Sorry, but I will make sure I bring along when we next ride together.

Thats very honorable, you really didnt need to at all. But many thanks!

Out  just got back from a work trip and I have a bit of a cold that I can't shake! plus a busy weekend, which means I need to rest...

Have a great ride everyone, the big star under the moon in the morning is Jupiter btw, it's been looking lovely. Hopefully I'll make whitstable next month, also hopefully.....on a new steed....

I managed to cycle back! Shame it was from Wallington, not Brighton.

It just wasn't working tonight. I was struggling early on, couldn't warm up and the legs weren't coöperating. Still managed to get in 70km (not that I had much choice).

Hope the rest of the ride is going well. I'm off to bed!

'Tis 6°C and a clear moonlit night here in the 'burbs.

Reckon it's going to be two or three degrees less before you ascend the South Downs....

I cam out of town last night and it was a touch chilly. Being a mere Southern softie, I stopped and put a jacket on. It was 11:30pm and I spared a thought for all the intrepidistas...those surprise cold hollows. Brrrrrr :cold:

Snow is forecast for Monday. Selfridges has been selling snow for a couple of months now but this is the real McCoy (Sounds like a Spanish/Irish soccer team)

Had a lovely ride everyone!

(Rugby then work then 'play' for the less physically able - fry up and beer with milky sun for you lot <jealous>)

Well I was very sad I couldn't go but I was way too tired. Hope it's gone well.

Have cold weather gear for the next one. Sounds like it might be tested before then!

Looking forward to reading the various reports later on.

Back home, here are my first thoughts

Very cold, not as cold as Southend but frost on car type chilly.
Bit slow out of London, but I believe we had a couple of mechanicals. Also spare a thought for Justin, badgered into coming by powerful relatives, borrowed a bike, only to break a hub and have to get a taxi home early on.

Lovely sunrise (and coffee - thanks Hatler) as we approached Ditchling and the view from the top was magnificent - I'm sure lots of people on here will be posting photos soon

Finally as always, fabulously well organised, great to chat with so many friendly people, and for me at least a great way to end the year on a high (I've used up all my passes for this year)
