no need to wrap around the car. with enough tape it shoud stay safe stuck to the roof. otoh, for added safety wrap around the roof with doors open, then shut the doors. this may reduce headroom inside, but would be more secure
I'm sure that after a Fat Boy Breakfast and a few beers there'll be loads of willing helpers with lots of advice and enthusiasm ready to dismantle the 'bent.
As for getting it back together again, well that's another matter
