Now that dell is on holiday, would this be a good time to arrange for everyone to put mudguards on their bikes, along with racks (front as well as rear)?

And panniers (filled with bubble wrap to make them look huuuuuge!!!!) :-)

Do I have to point out that you lot are going to be in such bother when he gets back? I'd get erasing posts if I were you.

Hmmm... What to do... What to do....

14th October is the one day in the year where I can do almost exactly as I please*. But I have a flight to the US on the 15th, from Heathrow (which isn't even on the way back) in the afternoon, and a frantic series of meetings waiting for me when I land. Check in would be very early afternoon, which means I'd have to get back home by midday latest.

Hmmm... Tight.

Sleeping through the entire flight would be a luxury, of course, and maybe jetlag would get too confused to bother applying.

What to do... What to do???

*Ok. Not exactly what I want to do. I'll still get facebook updates about farms and jewels, and I'll still not be able to bludgeon the senders to death.

I bailed at Gatwick on the Martlets and while full of the shame of bailing, I got home around 6 and felt like I'd had a good ride out, it may be a good happy medium [insert Doris Stokes joke here]

I've got to bail completely on this one though, the 15th is world baby-wearing day and the GLW is a baby-wearing enabler and so will be teaching mothers how to wrap their kiddywinks to their backs and fronts all Saturday, so I have to look after No1 son all day. Not something to be done with a night ride in the tank (and no sleep).

Backs AND fronts? Seems to me the solution for your predicament reveals itself. How sturdy is your other half? Son on the back, you on the front, all cosy and ready to snooze. If you can get USB charging on board, No 1 son can probably stay entertained throughout.

ha ha - she's had 1.1 on her back and 1.2 on the front at the same time, but only managed about 20 minutes. It's very good for fitness and core stability dontcha know.

Here for rides.

I feel by failing to explore the possibility of wearing an infant as a hat/helmet you are letting the side down.

Getting closer. Looks like whiff and kids might come down to Brighton for breakfast, then family jump in car and head for home and airport. This could work

Hmmm...anyone know what Waterloo or Euston are like for 'bent-friendly parking? (eg the elevated rack things or otherwise) - I'd been thinking about doing this one for a while but realised I'm off to a gig in Camden (Electric Ballroom), and I don't really fancy leaving it round there...

There are elevated racks opposite the M & S outside Euston. Not sure they'd fit a bent if the wheelbase is substantial, though.

Who's on at the EB?

Ta..might be ok, not sure how the wheels get supported in those things. Pretty sure they had the same things at Surbiton station when we lived nearer there - that's a few miles detour on the way home so I'll take a gander in the next few days.

EB: ah, the rock/metal end of the spectrum - Puddle of Mudd, and Soil (original vocalist's back for this tour, on loan from Drowning Pool - more the reason I'm going, only really heard POM in dribs n drabs...).
