Good points I wouldn't want to spend more than £200 I know the frame is old but as it's 105 components do they make up for it?

Other concern I had was weight, can an old frame compare to a modern frame?
Looks great, and weight certainly wouldn't be a problem. But I'll be surprised if it goes for £200, with the 105 and the confidence-inspiring description. I'd be surprised if it doesn't reach £300, and if I was doing predictions, I'd guess maybe £350.

Topeak Joe Blow Sport II track pump:

RRP £36.99
Halfords in store £30.00
Halfords online £26.49, but get them to price match Wiggle, who have it on offer at £23.29.
Then get 10% British Cycling discount and it's just £20.97 for a great track pump. :okay:

No as they aren't new

Go look at it, lift it up. A modern alu bike with 105 and carbon fork is probably around 9kg.

OK cheers, the Merida I have been looking at is around 9kg with Tiagra and carbon forks, LBS will probably sell his stock of 2016 before I can afford one, but the 2017 has a nicer paint job and slightly better spec

Yea it's probably wishful thinking as I am still new to the game I thought it was to ask as it's easy to get caught up in an auction and pay over the odds.

Indeed, surely the shifters are the important bit, mechs and brakes hardly make it a 105 bike

And they could be the crappy old sora with the thumb button. Aesthetically the new ones aren't much cop either

SRAM rocks anyhow

Hmmmm may give that one a miss then.

I will go back to plan A of buying new from the LBS.

Unless I see another local 2nd hander, but I will ask opinions on here first as I am too green to notice issues.

Something seems odd on this. The shifters are sora so has to be 105 5600 and even older ultegra? And 9 or 10 speed? Sora is 9.
10 cogs on the cassette and old thumb shifter sora?

The guy says the shifter has 10 clicks , that makes it an 11 speed shifter as 10 speed only has 9 clicks
