Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
I spent far too long looking at this a while ago and I think the Altura ranges that might surprise people are "spin" which have a thin pad (designed for gym exercise bikes, I think), while "twist" (yoga/dance), "attack", "nevis", "cruiser" and "stream" (walking/running IIRC) have no pad.

Just bought one of these, seems a good deal and cheaper than my usual place Merlin Cycles.

I bought one of these earlier in the year, it's very nice out of the packing but the arms were far too tight. Also, there was a small piece of sharp plastic that sat behind the zip fastener which rubbed against a new pairs of bib tights and left them damaged. Cycle store weren't interested in the slightest and told me to take it up with the bib tight suppliers! I had other things going on at the time so let it go. Wish I hadn't now.

Depends what it goes for. I'd not pay more than a couple of hundred for a nearly 10 year old bike personally

But if it's local go check over and try it out before the auction ends

Good points I wouldn't want to spend more than £200 I know the frame is old but as it's 105 components do they make up for it?

Other concern I had was weight, can an old frame compare to a modern frame?

No as they aren't new

Go look at it, lift it up. A modern alu bike with 105 and carbon fork is probably around 9kg.
