But i did pay a visit and found that, for folks interested in gels and energy snacks, they had an intro pack from sis or the folks behind zero tabs (can't remember) which had a bottle and maybe 15 or more snacks/gels for just £7.50.

Yes but the extra 0.4mm width might make it jam in the rear section of an 11-speed drivetrain

In my view the Clarks ones that Halford sell are much better and easier to fit and they normally sell for around £3 for two - I have them fitted to all of my bikes and they are a joy to clip on and off for cleaning. The 11 speed ones are slightly more expensive.
