I've got the Park Tools one and I'm happy with it - it's not perfect (doesn't fold well, very heavy, clamp doesn't rotate easily) but otherwise works fine. Between £50 and £100 there's probably not much difference in function so best get the cheapest one I'd say. £41 can't go wrong really! (edit: well after reading the reviews maybe you can go wrong)

Hmmm... looking at the overall reviews on Wiggle which are pretty good, you can't help wondering whether one or two of the bad ones are from one post wonders with an interest in the competition. I've bought one, so guess I'll find out soon!

There's always a couple of damning reviews on everything - usually, I bet, from people that haven't bothered to set-up properly or read instructions (I'm guilty of not reading instructions or only as a last resort )...

Anyway £39.99 - bargain!

I've just spent more money by looking in this section now although I keep telling myself not to, bah!

Free 'Buff' clone with C+ this month

I just received my Jan 2010 issue of Cycling Plus and it had a rather nice C+ Buff-lookalike attached. I assume that this isn't a subscribers only gift. If you like C+, get yourself a free 'neck-tube'. If you don't like C+, get yourself a neck-tube for less than £4 and recycle the magazine!

anim_03.gif It could be worse........I think

Just noticed it's from Halfords. Oh well, it seems to do the job (though only got it today! But it's in good condition apart from the front mudguard), and it's only for a spare bike and the odd bike ride by my brothers, so it doesn't matter too much if it's a "BSO".

Recently won an Apollo Boulevard bike cheap on eBay:

Does anyone know if it's a good bike? Doesn't matter if it isn't, just using it as a spare and for the odd bike ride with my brothers.

I came up to York with an Apollo ladies town bike, probably a similar vintage to that. After my new bike-keen friend got hold of it and tweaked the fit and gears and stuff, it served me very well as a hack, and it was a sad day when it got nicked.

Hmm, looking at it, it's white under the logos isn't it? Maybe you could build the second forum bike. See here for the first...

Nothing wrong with a £10 hack bike - just check over the essentials to make sure it's safe.
Feels good winning with all that intense bidding going on with this one eh?

lol I was suprised to win this auction, cos I never win any on bikes. A Peugeot Carbolite I was bidding on (yeah, I know a lot of people don't like it, but my current Carbolite has served me well with everyday use, and long rides) went for £80! Another auction, I was beaten with seconds to go, so no time to act!

Yeah, it's white. I think I'll be keeping the bike as it is though, it's only cheap, so probably not worth spending too much money on it. It works and that's the main thing! Plus I have no experience building bikes.

Don't know if these are great prices or indeed if TK Maxx stock is the same everywhere but they have loads of Oxford locks in at the moment. Got a big covered chain thingy for £12.99 and a smaller enclosed one for £7.99. Normally RRP £25 and £20 respectively.
