Got an unexpected phone call from Halfords this morning to tell me my internet order I made on Saturday was ready for collection...impressive!!!

Well I'm glad I went for the XL in the Sportful Reflex 2 jacket as it's a great fit...decent quality and really light. Bargain for £12.60.

Looking to get a new mini u-lock. Several reviews suggest the Asus U-Mini 401. Over £60 in Wiggle, but Decathlon has it £25

EDIT: sorry, the Decathlon one may not be the 401, it's not clear.

I recommend the Kryptonite Evolution Mini. Picked it up from Koo bikes with the Kryptoflex cable & bracket for around £25 delivered a couple of months ago. There is a £5 off voucher for signing up to their newsletter - does take a while to come through! But gets you a fiver off these prices-

Lock alone £29.99 http://www.koo-bikes.com/kryptonite-evolution-mini-standard-bike-u-lock.html
Mini 9 £25.99 http://www.koo-bikes.com/kryptonite-evolution-mini-9-ls-with-flexframe-u-bracket.html
Series 2 Mini £22.99 http://www.koo-bikes.com/kryptonite-kryptolok-series-2-mini-u-lock-with-bracket.html

Cheapest I could find by quite a long way and excellent service - received next day.

But ANY bike lock - whatever you spend, ain't gonna last long according to this - http://gizmodo.com/5922074/the-best-bike-lock

Lots of goodies in Aldi's running event that starts today. I picked up a compression base layer set for £9.99 (t-shirt and shorts, really nice quality & fit) and some running gloves for £2.99 that may double up as liner gloves when cycling in the middle of winter. They also had buffs, hats, hi-viz tops, etc. Well worth a look.

Also, my local Aldi (Smithdown Rd, Liverpool) still had loads of cycling gear left over: jackets, jerseys, shoes, overshoes, lights, spoke reflectors...

I hope you take pity on the poor seller and give them a pound coin and tell them to keep the change? Good spot BTW.

Paid via paypal and thought nothing of it at the time but when you think about it the poor guy will have to fork out for sellers fees and listing fees taking home about 50p.
My next bargin lined up is an end of year Scott helmet from Stokesley cycles, reduced from £125 to £25. Spotted in on the website, just hope it is in stock when I next visit.

Please stop these bargains. So far, sick leave has lead to the purchase of:-

Bell Sweep Helmet - £50 (RRP £99)
2 x Chinese 2xU2 super bright lights £40 ish
3 x Bottles of Finish line Lube £2.97
1 x Deore LX Chainset £29.99 (RRP £79.99)
2 x Pair Polocini Spotty Socks £15

Going to be skint. Never mind not being able to ride a bike. By the end of another 3 weeks, there might be a whole new bike in the stable !
