You're welcome. Re sizing I would have said the opposite actually. I wear 44 Sidis and 43 (UK 9) street shoes. From comparing in shops I've found that Sidis are similar in length to Shimanos but narrower. Is width the problem?

Matthew

Width is not the problem it is shorter than my Shimanos, I will be returning them and ask for size 42. By the way the price had gone up £198!!

I had to go up a size on the Sidi Diablos, the size 46 fitted me but 47 is far better, especially for their intended use (winter). They are a real bargain, though. I'm going to send the 46s back to PBK, it would probably be easy enough to sell them on eBay though!

I've always wondered this too. I wear Tesco trainer socks when I'm riding, they're quite thick and nice but not as thick as a sport sock so there is some cushioning. What are the benefits of s specific cycling sock though?

Good cycling socks like the Coolmax ones everyone sells fit better than regular socks and wick sweat and dry much faster. They really are better than ordinary socks or even basic sports socks.

This is the key for me! When I was touring I had permanently damp socks because the cotton ones never dry when camping! Also, my husband gets cold feet when cycling. Don't know if they differ from normal sports socks though..?

Depends what you're comparing too. I imagine they're similar to good running socks (haven't tried them) but they are much better than supermarket sports socks.
