Arm warmers featuring the Specialized logo (*cough*) from DealExtreme for £3.34ish (link for XXL, search "cycling arm sleeves" to see the other sizes).

Ordered these in January. Took a month for them to get in stock and another month for them to arrive from China - Wiggle they ain't. However, they look pretty good, they're a great fit on my skinny arms (snug, without being too tight) and they were very comfy on my ride this morning.

Cheers mate, your review convinced me to pick up 2! Got them from a UK seller for £18, couple of quid more but hopefully delivered by midweek. Seems like crazy brightness for the price?

Bear in mind that they use AAA batteries so its going to be hard to get decent sustained light from them.

O rly? I honestly have no idea what difference that'd make, less powerful than AAs? Is it worth getting rechargeables if it'll chew through them quickly?

You wont get the same life/ time compared to AA powered but with some decent AAA rechargables they will be fine. Remember its a compromise between weight, size and power output.

You really need to use rechargeables anyway.
Alkaline do not cope well with high power so are likely to last less than 1/2 that of rechargeable.
However rechargeable will give out 20% less light.

A good reason to buy a 3 * AAA front bike light is if it accepts an 18650 battery. That would make it a decent buy.

Also, unless specifically designed for road bikes, the light throw may be too dangerous for on-road use.

rechargeable batteries won't give out less light as the voltage is the same. Do you mean the capacity of the battery ie milliampere's? I don't thin an 18650 battery will fit as they are longer. A good set of Lithium Iron rechargeable AAA cells should give good performance over their Alkaline cousins though.

I'm of the thinking that if the light is cheap and just uses the natural resistance of AAA batteries then adapting something might just end up with a low resistance explosion.
