Rail sale.

As announced in the news yesterday, one can bag some ridiculously cheap advance train tickets for travel between 25 April and late May. For instance, I just bought a single from Hull to Leeds for £1.50. Gonna ride out to the coast and catch train back.

Also, doing a repeat of @nickyboy Leeds to Scarborough ride and catch train back (£5).

Also just as point of note, they have other shoes there too... - They are really trying to get rid of remaining stock, short of giving them away. Havent checked what sizes are available so good luck to all those interested.

I've given them a try , if they don't suit they are cheap enough to pass along for nowt.

I have the winter boots and the one boa MTB shoes and they are excellent value for money. Would have taken the plunge if they'd had my size.

Never mind giving them a try, Im tempted to pick a pair up just so i have replacement treads & boa dials - Both of these are so hard to find and damn expensive where found and im not even sure if im getting the right ones as far as the dials are concerned!

https://greatbritishrailsale.nationalrail.co.uk/ ends 2nd May. If you select "Inspire Me" as the destination, it'll show what's available from that station: only London Thameslink for me.

If you use most ticketing websites, they won't tell you if you could use a sale ticket for part of the journey, but I understand www.trainsplit.com will.

Yes, I should have mentioned. Best going via National Rail website.

The cheap tickets don’t appear* on the websites of the individual train operators.

* at least they didn’t when I booked.

These rail tickets are another waste of cash from our government like the eat out to help out plan of last year.
It might make a trip cheaper or a nice weekend break, but does nothing for commuters struggling with their fares.

Agree, but most not available at weekends either!

This is just a stunt that distracts from our obscenely overpriced rail fares.

And let's not mention bike provision/booking process. Any money invested in this ridiculous side show would be much better spent on implementing a network/train company wide booking system that's seamless and easy. Ive seen recently that some companies have reintroduced ability to book a bike space at same time as booking ticket online, but not all.
