Regrettably my childcare plans have fallen through and I need to be back home by 7.30 am on Saturday, so will not be able to make this ride. I have toyed with doing the ride part way and returning via the first Tilbury ferry but it's a bit of a risk if I get lost on the way back to Gravesend and I don't make the first boat.

Apologies, to Sig and the others. I was really looking forward to this. ;)

Sig, try and team up with Wowbagger and Spangly Socks for the Liverpool Street/HPC stretch. Sorry about this.

I think we'll have four bents, including a three wheeler. I'll probably lead a bent tendency by the roads, rather than on the canal towpath, and meet up at Lower Higham, because getting the bents through the Sustrans Gates From Hell will be nigh on impossible. The road route is pretty spiffy, so the degree of deprivation is slight.

That sounds like a smart move. If the route is anything like the one we did on Sunday, there are a couple of places where a trike would be utterly stuffed.

What's the cat's current thoughts? Looking at the forecasts it's not as nice as it was.

 -I was only joking! I'm too scared of leading you astray again Sig. As for the ferry, images of Jules Verne are already springing to mind - I dare not venture on water with bike. 13:00 in Bromley is the cut off time (notice that Andy - one hour 'grace'...)
I did propose to Sittingduck that he drop everything, well, nearly everything, and accompany you because suddenly he knows his way everywhere.;)
Weather changeable by the weekend too - according to the bouffant featured presenter on Sky weather prancing back and forth with nimbus streaking past in the background...
 it's mouseketeer time

I would hazard a guess that confidence is being exuded
if that's what you call it, it is, and mostly on the carpet. I've told him about eating mice, but he simply won't listen.

Metcheck is now showing no rain, but a headwind. I'm going to wait until this afternoon. If it shows big rain there'll be a round robin e-mail to elicit cancellations - I don't want to be the proud owner of twenty bacon sarnies from Andy's Cafe.

I didn't feel unwell at all the next day. I just couldn't walk. ;)

When have you ever seen cyclists leave food behind?!
Cyclists = plague of locusts

In the event of big rain (projected and/or actual) what's the form? Do the grizzled ones don rain wear and proceed as planned? Do the really grizzled ones dress as usual, in lycra and sans mudguards, and proceed as planned?
