I've been on a bit of a health kick over the past week so have mostly been eating vegetables and a bit of meat, trying not to have too mnay carbs and no processed stuff. My staple has been carrot, parsnip, swede and potatoe mash with a side of kale or sprouts and some lean meat. It has made me very windy and smelly. I don't know if that's an overload to the system (and it would eventually sort itself out) or whether that sort of diet would always cause wind.

Aren't those carbs?

I found out the hard way that spinach for me is now like rocket fuel. I mean it! I reached the ionosphere before the effects of the spinach curry my partner made ran out of energy!! I have a theory it is too much fibre that is my issue but I eat a lot of plain, redskin peanuts that is high in fibre and they do not cause wind only help with healthy gutsm, for me that is.

To the OPs question the best way to reduce it is to let it all out. Not exactly reducing it but it reduces it within you and seriously, better out than in!! I speak from experience. Lying on one side in the fetal position then suddenly rolling over to the other side and the fetal position helps me to evacuate. Of course only do this in private as untrapped wind is considered antisocial.

The nice ones then

Well yes, but I must say I have not really been craving any of the bad stuff that I used to eat. If I'm full up with veggies then I'm still getting carbs so maybe it's staving off the suagr cravings. I've not had a biscuit for over a week and haven't really missed it

I had similar - we went to a friends house one evening and she used finely diced carrot and broccoli to bulk out the meal, as there were a lot of us and she only had a small pack of mince. We ate quite late for me (about 8pm) and when I got up in the morning I had the worst stomach cramps I've ever had in my life. And I mean, I thought my appendix had burst and was 5 mins away from calling an ambulance. I managed to crawl to the toilet, and it all came out rather quickly. After that I was fine

Skill in volume control could be acquired by spending time in the local library :okay: after all you never hear any rip roaring full bore outrageous farts that could blow your hat off there....just the occasional gentle parps n peeps ingeniously emitted to avoid culpability and ownership... :okay:
