The better modern cars have a fairly decent voice activation systems. Tesla have a pretty decent system. You can control heating/navigation/calls etc via voice.

I'm usually carrying a passenger, so if there is something 'vital' that I want to know about, the passenger can easily access all functions from the centre display.

Seen as nothing is really that urgent, it will wait till the vehicle is stationary

Tesla's new V4 open network superchargers are beginning to roll out in the UK. Come with contactless payment or via the Tesla app. Can charge up-to 300kW.

I think the Tesla voice system is better than any other car out there (that I've tried anyway). But I really wish Tesla had physical a wiper stalk because although auto wipers are ok, sometimes they go a bit nuts like on other cars but where as on other cars you can easily switch the wiper off, in a Tesla you need to touch a button on the screen.

I am currently in the. process of replacing my car. The "new" car a has a "safety feature" which (supposedly) automatically identifies pedestrians and/or cyclists with whom the car may be about to collide, and, issues some form of "warning" to the driver. Reading the small print, I note it says that it cannot spot cyclists in the dark. Rather worrying for cyclists I think! ;)

Would love to see the advertising for this!

Look at our new Car X:
Lots of space - check
Really fast - check
Economical - check
Can spot cyclists - terms and conditions apply

BMW have cracked infotainment. Their idrive and shortcut buttons are brilliant, once you’re used to it you never have to take your eyes off the road. I never use the voice activation feature, no need.

Nice to have voice too.

Verbally asking Spotify to play songs by, eg: "Uni and her Ukelele" is a lot easier than navigating with buttons.

As an engineer once said re self driving vehicles.

They don't have to be perfect, just better than human drivers.

I knowcmy Tesla does spot cyclists, but I don't treat it as perfect system

Similarly the ID4 spots cyclists.

Sometimes.

If they are too far over to the left it ignores them. Again Tesla lead the field in this area because they use AI learning.

The most useful feature is the ability to use handwriting on the top of the idrive controller, it makes inputting and finding stuff so quick, again without having to look down at the buttons.

Mrs TKK went to see her physio on Thursday. He works out of the QE sports centre on the outskirts of Wimborne. While she was waiting in reception a couple came in and asked if it was ok to use the facilities and lounge area while their vehicle was charging. Fitness centre staff were happy to oblige.
Not something that I'd previously thought of but certainly has a lot of potential.

Mrs and I were holidaying in the Cotswolds. We stopped in one of the towns, parked up in a hotel carpark and asked to use their destination charger. I said we would buy a coffee and cake from them if they allowed us to charge for a couple of hours whilst we sightsee'd the town. They were happy to do so

So a complimentary fitness session whilst charging? I mean if it's gym members using the charging but this seems to be the other way round?
