They are the best EV, but I just can’t live with the styling, lack of a binnacle in front of the driver and poor build quality.

They definitely don't feel remotely premium.

Cheap looking/feeling leather. Plastics look cheap, 'bonnet' feels flimsy and the charging port flap feels a bit rickety - at least on my mate's Performance 3 and Y.

Much as it pains me , been looking at those as well as in budget . However other than the charging network , it’s not really growing on me .

I was passing the local dealer today

Huge boot, don't forget the frunk too.

I've decided to take one for a test drive this week to see if the wife might want to exchange from her model 3. Son also expressed interest, so have got it overnight.

My wife's pleather seats are holding up well after nearly 70k miles

and the Zappi should be compatible in the next few weeks
I use a Zappi with Octopus and have been since the Bulb switch last April/May. Works perfectly in conjunction with the ID4. It did take a bit of setting up as I think it's a little bit in beta still.

I have no doubt they are holding up after that mileage but I am also in no doubt that they look cheap and nasty in a £50k (?) car.

Maybe Tesla need to produce a better looking faux-leather seating material?

I know you love Tesla cars but, objectively, the money has gone into, admittedly good, tech' and not into a quality looking and feeling car imo. They don't do anything for me at all.

Certainly not a patch on the 5 Series and E Class cars from the past that I have 'owned' (company cars).

I too have driven some nice cars, but I have always put function over form. I could have gone for a Audi Etron, or Porsche Taycan, but they lack range. Very nice looking cars, well out together.

A Model X or S is far superior in my opinion

We could have had a brand new Rolls Royce but settled on a 5 year old BMW

More or less the same thing these days. ^_^

That is it in a nutshell . Anyways we have put a deposit on an EQC this afternoon. We like the Merc’s Interior is lovely . Test drove it and it was quick as we would need . Range is not the best but it will be fine for us .
Just hope insurance is not too bad lol

You will like it. Which model did you go for?

My friend has one - his is 3 year old now and it is a nice place to be - the wraparound dash is nice too. It is a nice interior.
His usual range is around 200 miles between charges.

Premium in dark grey it’s nearly new . Looked at an iX3 as well . Which was also nice . The one we have gone for seemed best value . However not a done deal yet , a wee issue to be fixed on it before I except .

Also - check what you are getting. I know that a couple of years ago they were not delivering on some of the tech because of chip shortages - didn't reduce the price though.
