I'm gutted. You get "voodoo barbie sex muffin", while I only qualify for 'jazz donkey'! And then 'idiot'! ;)

There's nothing like a bit of true appreciation, and that was nothing like a etc.....;)

I think I'd be worried that he'd rather enjoy the "thwapping"! ;)

Morning to the Richmond Twelve (that sounds like something you would expect to see at a vintage car rally, or, worse, at the Old Bailey).

Hope all your toes, fingers, legs, necks, backs, bums etc have recovered from yesterday. My arches feel a bit abused, but apart from that fine. I feel I should get out today for a few miles just to get the blood pumping round a bit, but the bike is still in the car with the wheel off, and it's chucking it down outside so I won't.

Some stats:
Riders: 12
Wheels: 25
Distance: 44miles
Elevation Gains: 1800ft
Event Duration: 5hrs
Cycling time: 4hrs
Ave speed: 11mph
Temp: 38F

Kudos to COG for 'event management services' and good to see people made it from near and far.

I think any route in London would be lucky not to get tangled up with heavy traffic at some point, especially on a Saturday running up to Xmas, but there aren't many rides in town with the opportunity to cycle past a herd of deer, a flock of sheep and assorted horses. Makes it sound positively rural.

Maybe a run in the green belt next time? New Years Day anyone, haha???

Hmmm, I don't like your average speed at 11mph, mine was far better at 12.1. I wonder why it's so different - was this from a satnav?

I'm just about to venture out to the car and reassemble my bike and go for a little half hour ride so I don't forget how to do it. I've been to Tesco's and got one of the Cree front lights so I now have a mega challenge to attach it to the trike which may take some consideration. Tomorrow I shall go and buy a replacement rear light. No aches and pains at all today which is great, and my feet have finally defrosted.

Well done you lot - and a nice report from Auntie H too. Yesterday in Paris I was sitting on a balcony in a t-shirt whilst navigating my way around several bottles of rouge - warm sun reminding me of how much I was missing the A3 lorry dash:biggrin:

Well, just dead reckoning really. We started at 10.03 and I finished at 15.04. Almost exactly 5 hours. Riding time was 3.51, so about 4 hours for a distance of 44 miles= 11mph. Mind you, my GPS inexplicably took a nap between the Star and Garter down to Hampton Wick, so I don't claim any definitive accuracy for these figures, and I'm open to correction if anybody managed to log the whole ride.

I'm now going to ask how folk to think about how they're fixed(no pun intended;)) for a 'Bleak Mid Winter' ride in January?

Looking at a 30 - 40 mile route perhaps?

If anyone has any ideas for a ride before Jan then just shout it out!

On the strength of yesterday's turn out it would be really nice if we could get a CC group ride going say, once a month, having different rides in different parts of London within the M25, including local CC'ers.
