Count me in fellas

Perhaps us Saarf of the Rivva types could meet by Waterloo, cycle up to Liverpool St and jump on a train towards Essex for the next one? (Only fair considering Auntie Helen had to leave her house at 7:30am Yesterday ;)

In regard to dates, how about the first Sat of the month?

Well I'd definitely be on for a Bleak Midwinter ride in January although if it were somewhere super-hilly I might skip that particular one.

For the spring/summer I can offer a led ride in my part of the world which involves some rather lovely rivers, fields and a great jam-factory tea shoppe... you can see it here: www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=2748 It's 61 miles but could be shortened by not doing the bit out to the East from the start point (Manningtree station, which is a major stop on the Liverpool Street to Norwich/Ipswich line). It's on a lot of local roads and cycle routes and only about a mile of the route (a part in Colchester) is on roads that are at all busy. Anyway it'd be great for a long summer's day so bear it in mind in the future if you can all face sticking your bikes on a train.

Also if anyone wants to give up early we can go to Colchester Station and you can get a train home from there.

Count me in if I may chaps.

Monthly ride sounds ace.. if anyone wants me to map a route in Surrey for the future I am more than happy to do so.

I did a 25 miler today - I must have seen 10 cars in all that time... hundreds of bloody cows and sheep, a tractor and literally 50 cyclists.

Lovely.

Absolutely gutted I missed it now. I wimped out due to a minging hangover. Glad you guys had a good time and decent weather!

Am happy to try and sort out a route from Sarf London towards the North Downs - bit of countryside and a few hills. Perhaps start Greenwich Park/Blackheath?

Thanks to C of G for organising the ride yesterday.
Nice to meet you all I was a bit concerned when I pulled in to the park and saw all those Racing Snakes bombing round and relieved when I realised what a friendly bunch I was meeting.
I really thought that I would struggle and to my surprise did Ok and do not have any aches and pains today, I may well get them tomorrow though. ;)

If you fancy coming out to Sunny Hertfordshire on the 3rd of Jan I would be happy to plan a route around here probably based on this.

Hertford has two train stations East which comes from Liverpool Street and North from Moorgate/Kings Cross it is also close to the A1 and A10 The village that I live in is on the Moorgate/Kings Cross line approx 6 miles from Hertford and the same from Stevenage. Car parking can be arranged either in Hertford where I work or down the road I live in. I could also arrange for a Tea/Coffee stop at a pub on route. Any way let me know if you want me to sort it out for Jan.

Thanks CoG for sorting the ride out. It was great, and a pleasure meeting you all.

Apart from feeling very tired, I had no aches or pains so I would definately be up for more rides like this, except without the traffic.

I was surprised at how little trouble we had from motorists (just the one idiot) and also that we didn't have any visits from the P***** fairy, although her evil cousin came and took revenge on Sitting duck near the end ;) (what was the damgage sitting duck?)

For a first attempt I thought it was a great success.

Well I've tried to put names to the faces. Vast apologies to the chaps I haven't included (redjedi, I know you're one of 'em, but I can't quite remember which... if you tell me I'll update it!)

Attachment attached!

I think it's best to start a new thread each time on the Events Forum with a link to it posted in this thread.

I assume the person who offers the location should do the organising. It looks like we need a within-M25 ride for Feb and March at least so the Londoners aren't having to travel too much each time!

I'm the guy right at the back... who was fiddling with his bike and only just realized there was a photo on... ooops

(who is subsequently about to undo a bit of tension on his pedal so that he doesn't have any more clipless moments ;) )

Thanks guys for organizing a top ride... I'll definitely be keen for the next one

I won't be able to make the 3rd of Jan but I'll be there in spirit!
As for the Bleak Mid Winter Ride I shall keep you all posted.;)

In fact I'm going to nominate Sat 24th of Jan, weather permitting, for your diaries and I'll have a route for you by the end of the week!
