Auntie Helen

Ich bin Powerfrau!
Well I have just got back from my University commute (VERY wet but my fastest ever overall time, averaging 14.7mph for the 50 minute ride) and my bike was filthy. I have now cleaned it up a bit (although it's still quite wet), removed the pannier rack (I will use my sidepods tomorrow as I don't need so much stuff), taken the seat off and put it in the car. I'll oil the chain tomorrow morning when I get it out of the car in the dry; I didn't want to oil it out in the rain today so that it would drip oil all over the boot of my car).

I have a good selection of flapjacks for energy food, a spare inner tube (bet none of you have a 20 inch inner tube with you that I could nick if necessary!), some tools, and of course the obligatory camera. I can't decide whether to carry around my waterproof trousers; I think not, I shall assume that the current dry forecast will be correct. Hoorah!

I'm feeling a bit tired now, having done my speedy commute today, but I am sure a nice hot shower and some chocolate cake will perk me up. I'm really looking forward to the trip tomorrow and hope that the good forecast holds.

And by the way, I don't really have a 40 inch bust!

It's 0757 and I feel like I've died.Oh dear.

Beer, late night, curry and no sleep ( thanks kids) is not a great combo.

Still, I'm ready. ( he says green faced)

I woke up about 5am
Still gave me time to clean my chain and eat hot cross buns in readyness for todays ride

Just have to slurp this cuppa and have a quick shower and I shall be on my way to Richmond Park! See you there in a bit...

A Top Ride!

Cheers for organising it CoG. Shame I didn't finish due to "technical difficulties". Shame as I was psyching myself up for the sprint finish all day

The next one can't come soon enough....
right, now where did I put that spare spoke

I'll do a write-up shortly (after the much-needed shower followed by the celebratory Curry). I just got home so it was quite a long day but excellent fun.

Here's the group photo anyway...

And here's a pic I took of a mad person whose bike appeared to be rather short of gears...
