Fear not, Sittingduck, I don't have drops either. My bike is the one in my avatar. You'll all get backache leaning down to talk to me as I bump along with my backside 10cm from the road... It's a Trice Q (the Q stands for 'quick' but it should probably be 'Trice RT' for 'rather trundly')

D'you know, looking again at that word 'trundler', it looks like it might be a trifle rude.

Well I went for a bit of a blast today, 50 minutes really going for it, pedalling like mad up the hills etc. When I got home my average was 13.5 so I am definitely a trundler, although I had a slight detour when I had to pull off the road halfway up the wretched Cox's Hill as I could see a cat lying on the grass verge. Sadly it was dead and, more sadly, it didn't have any name or contact details on its collar, so the owner probably won't know.

I'm looking out of my window at blue skies with a few puffy clouds. If only we were going to have that weather on Saturday! But at least the winds in west London are less than they are here on the East Coast...

Mine is on my sig. I suspect I'll be one of the few who doesn't have drops

No drops here. I'm on my flat bar Bianchi which is a lovely celeste/blue combo.

If I can be bothered tomorrow night (in the dark), I think I'll put the bar ends back on for this.

Do I need to bring a lock with me?
I don't have anywhere on my bike to put one (once my pump holder and bottle cage are on) and I don't really want to bring a rucksack.

Good question about the lock. I have a fantastically secure D-Lock with miles of armoured chain (goes through all 3 wheels and various Sheffield Stand bits) but the whole lot is actually quite heavy. I'm more inclined to bring just two curly locks with me (the £3.99 from Lidl variety) so I'm not lugging all that weight around. Presumably if we stop at a café there will be enough of us to lock our bikes to each other?

I wondered the same thing about a lock myself. I have decided to get a rack and since I get paid at midnight tonight and am off work tomorrow I might use some of the day for a nice little trip to an Evans and pick one up
Have a Pannier bag here that my flatmate has never used and agreed to lend me or sell to me for a tenner(I loves a bargain me).

I'm afraid I only have one bike - drops
I have a very secure setup at home but never take one with me on a ride.
1) Never leave sight of the bike at a cafe
2) Or never stop
3) If it's out of sight - make sure someone elses bike is in front of mine

Chaps - I'm driving to the park mainly cos I have to be back home fairly pronto after our ride. ( it's about 15 miles from home) So I can bring track pumps etc etc for you all to use.

Say what you need and if I have it I'll bring it in the boot. equally if you want to leave anything in the car whilst we are out then you are all more than welcome.
