I've only just seen this would love to come but am already doing something.
With the next one could it be more to the east or central as like Auntie Helen I am in Essex/East London and would take about 2 hrs to get there.

Well done to C of G for organizing this I am jealous i won't be there.

I am sort of thinking about coming along to this. trouble is I am Fat, Fifty and Very Unfit. Only been doing 80 - 100 miles a week for about a month now. I would also have to drive down from north Herts to meet you all. I suppose what I am saying is, convince me this is a good idea.

Anyone else from my way thinking of doing the ride? I would have room in the van for another bike and would help to convince me to attend.

steve - I am fat, fifty+more and in Paris that weekend :tired:- I so wanted to do it.
Get your butt down there and meet some nice people! :tired:
Seriously, if you do it you will not regret the meeting of minds. (You'll ache for days with a scintillating pleasure!)

Steve, you should give it a go. The 25 mile route is always an option (it's one I'm considering, bearing in mind the weather and the fact that I think I'm likely to be slower than most other people). You could even just do one lap of the Park, if that's enough for you, and spend the rest of the time in a café.

I've always cycled on my own so I have no idea how my speed compares to other people but, judging by various CycleChat members' speeds on Cyclogs, I'm slower than most. But I'm still going to come along and will just play it by ear so I don't cause everyone else to have to go too slow for their liking but with the possibility that in convoy I might go a bit faster and have more fun!

Come on Steve... you know it makes sense! I wouldn't worry about being portly, as I can pretty much guarantee that I'll be the most "rotund" of the CC cyclists on this jaunt!

Give it a go Steve.

As mentioned some will be doing the shorter route, but we're not going to be going at TdF pace, and no-one will get left behind.

This will be the first long ride for a few of us.

There should also be a few cake..er rest stops on the way to recharge the batteries.

It will be good fun taking over the roads of SW London

Just setting the record straight - this ride is designed for CC Forum riders to meet up, socialise and ride together in a group ( and eat lots of cake ). I regularly ride with a reasonably fast group and I'm not going to be there to show how fast I can ride (or how slow I can climb a hill  ).
We will all cycle at the slowest riders pace and if takes 6 hours to complete the course - I'll be late for dinner!

Shift sorted.

I'll be there with bells on. Looks like a wet one (they always are) but will be good to mooch about for the 50.

Thanks again COG for your time organising this.

I think we can all stretch to buying you a coffee and cake to say thanks. If anyone wants to park at kingston gate and cycle to Richmond with me to warm up then your more than welcome.

Let me know

Oooooooooooooooooooo...serious!! Have fun everyone - I'll be thinking of you all as I lounge around in some Parisian café, with demis, cognac etc and the sound of lotto instant win games clinking in the background. I'd rather meet you all.:smile::smile::sad::smile::sad::becool:
Good luck Captain Crock - how you are going to lug 40kg of cake and energy bars around - I don't know, but Sgt tdr1nka is a sensible lad. Plenty of photos please

Yea, ditto. I'll be thinking of you lot when I've had a few pints and I'm shouting abuse at the Kiwi's at Twickenham this weekend. :becool: Looking forward to the next one.

I have to warm up otherwise I'll cramp up, crash and ruin the ride. I'm rather accident prone BTW.

Need to sweat the alcohol out from tomorrow night.
