If it is anything like Pottyboro they will be very busy. I'm still in two minds about e'scooters. It gets cars off the road potentially but they are a complete hazard at times 😵‍💫

They have made no difference at all to congestion here in Bristol.

I'm glad they are being seized somewhere. Sounds like Police aren't really stopping them on the fly, but rather setting up dedicated seizure operations, which is better than nothing, but I don't see why they can't just seize every one they see at any time

Difficult to stop on the fly if the sheetbags don't cooperate and most bobbies aren't trained or authorised to pursue two wheelers because the little darlings might fall off and hurt themselves and that then somehow becomes the bobby's fault.

The metro mayor here recently renewed the contract so we've now got them fly-tipped everywhere - including ebikes just dumped (literally dropped in the street). Sick of 'em. I reported one abandoned on the Railway Path & it took a week to get recovered.

I can understand that with 4000W ebikes, but most scooters aren't that fast are they? I guess it's the same principle though, how do you safely stop someone who's doing 20mph on a wobbly scooter.

I would argue that it's the riders duty to stop safely and any bad news that comes their way as a result of ignoring a lawful instruction to stop, which osmitself an offence, is of their own making alone. Sadly, Couldn't Prosecute Savile think different.

If it's anything like past hire schemes in the fens (allegedly), drivers are probably fly tipping them to try to get them banned!

In general, I think the people that use the eScooters and eBikes appear to be of the younger generation who never drove to work anyway hence no reduction in traffic generally. We have a scooter and bike parking area just around the corner from me in Filton and it is mostly UWE or SGS College students that hire them.

Let's face it, with the reduction in Police numbers they're never going to give this any priority.
