6 inches by the looks of it and still falling hard and fast. I cannot see the roads from my house but they were not good yesterday.

We've accumulated 3 inches or so and the bus route that I can see from upstairs has snow in between the wheel tracks and lanes. Our bin-men are over an hour late, I expect to see them about lunchtime. Over in the West of Co' Durham I gather they have a lot more, plus it's hilly in the Pennines, whereas the East is relatively flat.

We live at the bottom of a hill. I took the kid to school in the car this morning due to a combination of lateness and a lrge musical instrument. We have winter tyres, so I thought it would be no bother, but in the end I had to reverse the car up the hill to get the weight over the engine. Once over the crest we were fine. Came home to get OH to go to work (we work near each other) and absently mindedly turned the car around to go up the hill, and got stuck. Had to turn traction control off to burn it around so I could reverse back up the hill - the grip is so much better with the weight pressing the tyres down.

Have brought the bike to work on the back of the car in case it's needed to get to school in time to pick up the kid, whose school never, ever closes.

A mere dusting of about 1" here in Egg & Ham. Night shifts so didn't need to go to work today, so played on the trike instead.

It is now level with the middle of the wheels on the car. I would imagine 9 or 10 inches and still coming downhard. I doubt that I would be able to get the car down the drive as it is too deep.

I couldn't get back on the drive and it isn't all that steep.

My driveway way is about 70yards long and very flat, however the snow is halfway up the bumper, I doubt the Mazda would make a good snow plough. I may end up calling one of my farmer mates in to clear if it sticks around.
