Well, I suppose it qualifies technically as a flower photo (wild thyme), but that wasn't intentional. It's going into a chicken dish.

Flora and fauna in the first two (only realised there was fauna in the first one when I saw it on the laptop later), and contrast in the third. I love the blingy beetle.

Fresh early leaves on the trees in the woods which looked nice in reality, not so pleasing when viewed on the laptop monitor. I quite like the abstract nature of the tree shot I posted below. Stitchwort and wood anemone flowers.

Your picking out single flowers in DOF is fabulous... bewitching, WoW.

Thanks for that, Brian. The flowers were nestled low in the muddy ground, making it difficult to see the back screen without getting filthy. Typically, I later found some easier ones growing at waist height.
The blurred out flowers in the foreground are positioned so close to the front of the lens that slight movements significantly affected how much they obscure the main subject flower.
I think it’s easier to do with a longer lens (only if you aren’t down low in the mud trying to look upwards without a flip screen).

I bet your middle shot (droplets on stamens) looks great uncompressed.
