Maybe I'm just a helluva nice guy - I keep German car manufacturers in business, I help blind ladies cross a road, I pay my council tax and I even take my bin to the bin lorry when the bin men don't want to do it. I'm so flippin' accommodating. I also field all these queries from people who appear determined to upset me....and it does upset me....you're all so horrible to me. Is it cos I got me an Audi Q7 4.2 DTI Quattro S Line...you can tell me if it is, I'll understand.

Someone who just answered the question:
"What's the sparkling wine named after the region of France in which it's produced?"
With
"Jacob's Creek"

From that answer I deduce she's in a manufactured girl band.

So just to sum up: In your area, you're expected to leave bins on the pavement to be emptied (kids, this isn't the case everywhere so check before doing so). You didn't do this. Therefore the bin man refused to empty your bin. So far I don't really see what the bin man has done wrong exactly.

So you got up and pushed your bin round the block in your dressing gown and slippers. They then emptied it for you cos it was on the pavement. If you had left it outside my house, I would have expected you to wait with it and take it back straight away rather than leave it messing up MY street.
I'll explain for the umpteenth time...THEY DID NOTHING WRONG, THEY WERE DELIBERATELY MEAN-SPIRITED.

You raise an interesting point...their mean-spiritedness meant me messing up someone else's street with my bin. All so easily avoided.

Is this your new catchphrase?

It quite reminds me of this:

Yep you could have waited till they came round again.

As for mean spirited, judging by the way you've gone on about it you're hardly Tiny Tim are you?

Can we change the title of this thread to "should we take Stacey Solomon outside and put her out of her misery?"?
Miaoow, now that is trolling!
Stacey seems happy enough doing her thing, on the the telly, earning a few quid for a charity. Making the most of her talents....
Meanwhile we are on this thread.......

Woke up to sound of the bin men this morn. Heard the lorry then heard one of the boneheads shout "if it's not on the pavement, don't take it". I had left my bin 3 inches from the pavement so it was technically on my drive and the miserable buggers didn't empty it. Not to be outdone by a council worker I ran downstairs in my jim jams and wheeled my bin to the next street that hadn't been done. Took the dog out later and wheeled my empty bin back home.

Result! 1-0 to the hard working, accommodating, customer focused private sector worker and in your face to the hairy-arsed, selfish, jobs-worth, bin-emptying, miserable peanut (who also managed to leave a trail of rubbish in the middle of the road)

Well I agree with you mate, this is where this country is going wrong, a paid employee cannot go the extra 3 inches or what ever to ensure a good job is done.

I think the problem is should an injury have occurred on BFF's property he would have refused to contact his insurance company by claiming trespass. The problem here is not with the bin man but with the law and the interpretation of the law, particularly around insurance and money.
